I wanted autumn to come indoors quietly: little oak sprigs, each carrying two or three acorns, scattered over a soft sage-green ground.
Around nine sprigs share each repeat in a half-drop, staggered and turned in alternating directions, with plenty of calm green between them so none of them touch. Acorns and leaves come in brown, olive and cream, in flat gouache-style colour with crisp edges and a slightly naive line, no shading. I imagine it in a cottage-style dollhouse kitchen, or on the walls of a small bedroom.
