Falling Leaves
Rust & Cream

I wanted a wall that feels like the first windy afternoon of autumn: oak, maple and birch leaves drifting down at different angles across a cream ground.

Around ten leaves share each repeat in a half-drop, tilted every which way, with open cream between them so none overlap. Rust, ochre, olive and brown in flat gouache-style colour, crisp-edged and a little naive, with no gradients. I picture it in a dollhouse study around a writing desk, and in a living room it brings the same warmth.
