I went looking for the patch of lawn that is left to grow in spring: white clover heads, three-leaf clovers and tiny blue speedwell flowers, all scattered low across a white wall.
Leaves and flowers share the space equally, about sixty small motifs tossed across each tile, so the wall reads as a soft green-and-white texture dotted with pink clover and speedwell blue. It is flat gouache-style colour with crisp edges and a slightly naive brush. I see it in a dollhouse kitchen, a nursery or a garden room full of pots.
