White periwinkle flowers standing out on a deep French blue ground: I wanted the look of a provincial cotton print in a country kitchen.
Five rounded petals, tiny paired leaves and a diagonal lattice, with every second flower a little smaller and about thirty flowers to each repeat. The palette is just white, pale blue and olive on the French blue, printed flat with clean outlines and no gradients, so the wall stays bold even behind small furniture. I picture it behind the dresser and shelves of a French country kitchen.
