Meadow Ditsy
Cream

I wanted a kitchen that smells of June: tiny forget-me-nots, buttercups, clover and lavender sprigs scattered over a soft cream ground.

Each little flower sits on a thin olive stem with a few small leaves, wheat-grass tucked here and there, and the sprigs point every which way with plenty of cream between them, so no rows ever form. Cornflower blue, buttercup yellow, coral pink and lilac in a flat gouache look with crisp edges. I see it behind an open dresser in a cottage dollhouse kitchen, and it is just as sweet in a nursery or a bedroom.
