I wanted the daisy chains we used to make lying in the grass: small cream daisies with golden centres, linked by thin stems and looped across an olive ground.
The chains wave sideways across the wall, each one set a little off the next, with open olive between them so the daisies stay crisp and readable. Cream petals, ochre hearts and pale green stems in a flat gouache look with crisp edges and a slightly naive brush. Against the deep olive it feels warm and a little vintage; I see it in a cottage dollhouse bedroom under a patchwork quilt, and it suits a sunroom too.
