I wanted a floor that glows like warm stone under lamplight: a honey onyx with long, soft, wavy bands of amber, cream and caramel.
Twelve to sixteen thin bands cross each repeat slightly off the horizontal, with a few wider amber ones among them, and with the sheets laid edge to edge they flow on with no visible join. Honey, translucent amber, cream and caramel, with the fine crystalline detail of polished stone, laid as one seamless slab. I see it in an Art Deco hall, behind a small bar, or in a bathroom that wants warmth rather than white.
