For the lilac colourway I wanted something cool and quiet: the tiny rosebuds again, some half-open, in white and mauve with grey-green leaves on a pale lilac ground.
About forty sprigs line up in a calm half-drop grid, tilted left and right in turn, with plenty of lilac between them. Flat gouache-style colour, crisp edges, a slightly naive line, no gradients. I imagine it in a small dollhouse bathroom with a clawfoot tub, and it is lovely in a bedroom or a nursery as well.
