Tiny Bouquet Toss
Multicolour on White

I wanted the little posies a bridesmaid might carry, shrunk to doll size: roses, forget-me-nots and daisies tied with a blue ribbon bow, tossed over a clean white ground.

The bouquets lie at every angle with their ribbon ends fluttering, spaced so the white stays fresh around them and no line ever forms. Rose pink, forget-me-not blue, yellow and sage, with the ribbon blue tying each one, in a flat gouache look with crisp edges and a slightly naive touch. I see it in a vintage dollhouse bedroom or a little dressing room, and it is just as pretty in a nursery.
