I wanted a wall that hums like a fifties diner radio: boomerangs, starbursts and little ovals flying freely across a teal ground.
About forty shapes share each tile, tossed in every direction and set in a half-drop so no line forms between strips. Cream, mustard and black are printed flat on the teal, the way mid-century papers were. I picture it in a dollhouse living room with a low sideboard, or in a retro bedroom.
