I wanted a Halloween wallpaper that smiles more than it scares: black cats sitting with their backs to you or in profile, tails curled, among crescent moons and small stars on a soft pumpkin-orange ground.
The cats and moons sit in staggered half-drop rows with plenty of plain orange between them, so no motif touches another and every silhouette reads from across the room. Only black and cream, in flat gouache-style colour with crisp edges and a slightly naive brush, no shading and no gradients. I picture it in a dollhouse kitchen dressed for Halloween, and it would suit a living room just as well.
