This time I wanted the pumpkins in daylight: the same smiling lanterns and leafy vine diamonds, laid on a warm cream ground for a Halloween that feels cosy rather than dark.
One carved pumpkin sits at the centre of every diamond, with triangle eyes and a wide grin, and thin twisting vines run between them. On cream, the pumpkin orange, charcoal and olive green read clearly in flat colour with crisp edges, in the spirit of an old block-printed paper. I picture it in a dollhouse living room dressed for Halloween, with a pumpkin or two on the mantel.
