Rosette Cement Tile
Terracotta and Blue

I wanted a warm Mediterranean floor of patterned cement tiles, where every four tiles come together to make one round flower medallion inside a small square frame.

Each tile holds a quarter of the rosette, and the tiles are laid straight, so the medallions line up across the whole floor. The sheet edges fall through the middle of the tiles, never along a grout line, so the joins disappear when you lay sheets side by side. Terracotta, indigo blue and ochre sit on a cream ground with a matt cement look and thin, even grout lines. I see it in a Spanish kitchen, a patio room or a small bathroom in the house.
