I wanted a kitchen paper that feels like the start of summer: pairs of red cherries on their stems, each with a single leaf, tossed across a pale blue ground.
About thirty pairs share each tile, scattered in a half-drop so they tumble in every direction without lining up. There are only two colours on the blue, cherry red and green, laid flat with crisp edges and a slightly naive gouache touch. I picture it in a dollhouse kitchen with a breakfast table by the window and a bowl of fruit on the side.
