What I had in mind was a sunny orchard on a pale blue ground: orange and lemon branches, heavy with fruit, with blossoms and glossy leaves.
About twelve branches share each tile, running on the diagonal in a half-drop, so the fruit seems to climb the wall from one strip to the next. Orange, lemon yellow and green are laid in flat colour with crisp edges and a slightly naive brush, like a gouache study. I imagine it in a dollhouse kitchen with a bowl of fruit on the table, or in a bright dining room for summer lunches.
