I wanted the brightness of fruit trees against a whitewashed wall: orange and lemon branches with their blossoms and glossy leaves, on plain white.
Around a dozen branches cross each tile on the diagonal, set in a half-drop so the fruit keeps climbing from one strip to the next. Orange, lemon, leaf green and white blossom are laid flat with crisp edges and a slightly naive brush, like a gouache sketch. I see it in a dollhouse kitchen or a dining room set for lunch.
