Bottle green is the quietest of the three colourways, and here I wanted the thin gold ogee trellis to hold red roses, cream lilies and ivy woven behind it.
Straight repeat, with the lattice across the whole sheet. The red roses and cream lilies glow against the green, the ivy almost disappears into it, and the gold is a flat ochre-gold, not metallic, in flat Victorian gothic colour. I picture it in a small dollhouse reading corner: a desk, a lamp, a wall of books. It works in a Victorian bedroom too.
