In burgundy I wanted the trellis warmer and more romantic: the same thin gold ogee lattice, with pink roses, cream lilies and dark green ivy growing behind it.
The repeat is straight, and the lattice covers the whole sheet while the flowers weave in and out behind it. Flat colour throughout, in a Victorian gothic spirit, with the gold as a flat ochre-gold rather than a metallic ink. I see it lining a dollhouse library between tall bookcases and a reading lamp, and it suits a Victorian bedroom as well.
