I wanted a pale floor that lets a room breathe: whitewashed oak planks laid in a square-end herringbone, grey-beige with a soft grain.
The repeat is straight; the sheets butt edge to edge and the pattern carries on with no visible join. Pale beige, soft grey and cream, a fine natural grain, hairline joints between the boards and a satin finish, seen flat with no shine or shadow. I see it in a calm dollhouse bedroom, and it suits a modern living room or a studio as well.
