Little Fir Forest
Snow & Green

I wanted a whole little forest of Christmas trees on a snow-white wall, some bare, some dressed with a few round baubles and a star on top.

The small stylised firs are scattered in staggered rows, turning alternate ways, with plenty of white between them so each tree reads clearly, even from across the room. Fir green, red and gold are laid in flat colour with crisp edges and a slightly naive brush, like a gouache card. I see it in a dollhouse parlour at Christmas, behind the tree, or in a child's bedroom waiting for snow.
