I wanted a wall that looks like a shoal passing by: small anchovies and mackerel swimming in diagonal lines across a white ground.
About thirty fish share each tile, grouped in slanting shoals and set in a half-drop so they keep swimming from one strip to the next. Blue, grey and silver are laid in soft flat washes, with the light feel of watercolour. I see it in a dollhouse kitchen by the stove, or in a seaside bathroom.
