I wanted a wall with no room left to breathe: big peonies and anemones packed tight among dark leaves, the black ground showing only in narrow gaps between them.
The blooms cover about four fifths of the paper, in violet, pink, ochre and emerald, drawn as bold flat shapes with a painterly edge. I imagine it in a dramatic dollhouse bedroom, or in a living room that wants to be bold.
