I wanted a wall that is all flowers: big peonies and anemones crowded together with dark leaves, on a deep plum ground that only shows in small gaps.
Most of the tile is bloom, about four fifths, so the plum reads as shadow between the petals rather than as a background. Purple, magenta, mustard and dark green are painted in bold flat shapes, with no fine detail to get lost at doll scale. I imagine it in a dollhouse living room or a bedroom that wants to feel rich and enveloping.
