I wanted a kitchen wall that feels like a garden trellis in high summer: a cornflower-blue lattice on cream, with little bouquets of sunflowers tucked into every other diamond.
The diamonds alternate, one filled with a small sunflower bouquet, the next left open, so the lattice stays light and airy. Cornflower blue, sunflower yellow and green on cream, in flat colour with crisp edges and a slightly naive gouache touch. I picture it in a dollhouse kitchen with a blue-and-white dresser, or a sunroom full of pots and light.
