I wanted a little piece of forest floor for a bedroom: red toadstools with white spots, curls of fern and fallen acorns on a cream ground.
About twenty-five motifs are tossed over each tile in a half-drop, so the wall feels like a walk in the woods rather than a grid. Red, fern green and brown are laid flat with crisp edges and a slightly naive brush, like gouache. I picture it in a cottagecore dollhouse bedroom with a patchwork quilt.
