I wanted a sweet, rosy wall for a small child's room: wild strawberries with white flowers and trefoil leaves scattered on pale pink.
Around thirty sprigs share each tile, tossed loosely in a half-drop so no rows appear. Red, green and cream are painted flat with crisp edges and a slightly naive brush, like gouache, and the pink ground softens the red. I see it in a dollhouse nursery, or in a cottage kitchen that likes a little colour.
