I wanted the little strawberries you find along a woodland path: wild fruit with white flowers and trefoil leaves, sprinkled over a white ground.
There are about thirty sprigs on each tile, tossed and set in a half-drop so the wall feels picked over rather than planted in rows. Red, green and white are laid flat with crisp edges and a slightly naive brush, like gouache. I picture it in a dollhouse kitchen or a fresh, simple nursery.
