Plan your miniature room

Build a Victorian room around one focal piece

A panelled wardrobe, an arched cabinet or a dining sideboard gives a miniature room its structure. Choose the largest piece first, then check the remaining wall and floor space before adding smaller furniture.

For an ornate piece, compare the front, side and detail views. A deep cabinet needs space beyond its width, and a projecting cornice may sit close to a window or ceiling. Decorative drawer and door fronts do not imply working openings: check the individual model notes.
